ID3v2 tags not read on some files

Post by Sharkounet »

Hey!

I tried to use The Godfather on some new MP3 files I got, and for the first time, with theses files only (all comming from the same source/album/folder), The Godfather isn't able to read the informations in the tags.

Strange thing since Windows 7 can read it correctly in the explorer (artist, title, album, year, etc) and players like Winamp or VLC read them without problem. The informations are in the ID3v2 tags and The Godfather sees blank fields, so it's impossible to rename the files correctly using the tags.

If I update the tags in Winamp for example, they become visible in Godfather. There must be some formating problems on theses files, but other programs still manage to work it out.

I tried with 0.80, 0.88 and 0.89b versions, and it's all the same.

Here is a sample of theses MP3:

I have more if needed. :)

Thank you for your work!

This file has ID3v2.3 tags but some frames use the old ID3v2.2 ID and also use wrong size information for the data.
I had a look at it and it seemed like an easy fix so I added support for those specific Bad ID3's.
The beta is refreshed http://www.jtclipper.eu/godfatherforums ... 1922#p1922 have a look and test the other files as well.

I tested with the 100ish other files and it works correctly now.
That was fast, you're awesome. :)
