Very time I choose the Search button to search online against the default freedb server I get a dialog saying Access Violation - Read of Address nnn - where nnn is a different number each time (this time it is zero).

Any suggestions?

Windows 8.1 64-bit.

I cannot reproduce on win8 (don't have access to 8.1), are you using the latest version?
Also is this happening with gnudb and tracktype as well?

Finally try renaming your tgf.ini to tgf.ini.bak and try once more
