Hi,
In the v0.86 Beta II it is possible to deselect all update options, then when you press update nothing happens.
I think at least one of the options should always be selected.

Thanks for reporting, fixed that and refreshed the beta.
The button and menu should work OK now

Sorry, I don't find Update in menu - only in the new current selection submenu - do you mean this?
(It's interesting / funny for me, that the button updates all lines, except when row mode is selected, ie the button and menu item behaves differently, however it is logical that "remove tags" is here, as already related to the current selection.)

The button and the popup menu are build to behave differently.
Basically the pop up menu(and it's shortcuts) are a quick way to update/rename/or delete the tags of the current row (but also expand to the row mode selections when activated),
maybe I could rename the caption to Current File/Selection to make it more obvious

I get it, and I think it is good as it is.
I like the independently operating Rename menu item - maybe you could place a similarly independent Rename (only) button (for example before Update button) to make easy a rename, without changing the Column option, working on all or selected lines (in row mode), just like the Update button.

I installed the new Beta and the problem is solved!
Thanks for the quick fix.
