win7 compatibility

Post by militades »

relocate the ini files that might be written to the user profile, that way the application doesn't need admin rights to work
applications are not supposed to write to the program files folder after installation

TGF likes to be a portable application it does not use the registry and all the files relevant to the application itself are on the same folder structure, you can always install on another path or use run as admin.

I know: its already a long time ago...
...but you can set the needed rights on the tgf install folder:
users must have read/write access
Then everything works with the settings (saving ini file...) but the option to integrate the tgf context menu entry in windows explorer. Here we need to open tgf with elevated rights (run as administrator) as long as the logged on user don't have this rights. The tgf must write some registry keys for that.

This may help others.
